These tungsten-steel, or carbide, straight-flute taps are listed in the M3-M20 range for machine-threading applications. Carbide offers high wear resistance but needs an accurately aligned and stable process.
Listed configuration
- Material family: tungsten carbide
- Geometry: straight flute
- Metric diameter range: M3-M20
- Machine use
Application review
Provide the workpiece alloy and hardness, thread size and pitch, blind or through hole, usable thread depth, machine and holder details, and coolant method. Straight-flute geometry is not automatically the best choice for every material or deep blind hole.
Process preparation
Verify the pre-drill diameter, actual hole size, tool runout and programmed clearance. Avoid treating generic carbide hardness or temperature figures as a guarantee for the supplied tap.
Ordering checklist
Provide the full thread designation, material preference, required quantity and packaging or marking requirements. Confirm the final configuration before ordering.
