This HSS-E cobalt forming tap creates internal threads by displacing suitable ductile workpiece material rather than producing conventional cutting chips. It is offered with coated surface options for application-specific selection.
Important application checks
- Confirm that the workpiece material is suitable for thread forming.
- Use the forming-tap drill diameter, which differs from a cutting-tap drill.
- Specify thread size, pitch, tolerance and engagement depth.
- Confirm lubrication, machine torque and holder capability.
Why hole preparation matters
A hole that is too small can sharply increase forming torque; a hole that is too large can reduce thread engagement. Provide the material grade and process data so the recommended drill size and tap specification can be evaluated.
Requesting a quotation
Please provide the thread standard and size, workpiece material, expected quantity, packaging or marking requirements and any applicable drawing. For machine taps, also provide the hole type, thread depth, machine and coolant conditions.
